Christmas decorating...

Oh what a challenge it is to do anything with 3 little ones ... especially hanging Christmas lights!!! Making memories.... making memories!!  Emmy wated to take the bulbs out while Nathan was trying to hang them... while Gavin and Reid.... lost interest in the "family event" after about 2 min. Racing their outside toys down our driveway was WAY more exciting than what mom and dad were doing! :-) We got the task done though... only 3 hrs. later. Ha!

We decided ... kinda at the last minute ... to take the kiddos to Homecoming this year. What a BLAST!! It was a Beautiful weekend... and we had so much fun doing house decks, parade and a bonefire with some old friends. So much fun... and we're definitly going back next year... and all the years to come!!

City of Roses Half Marathon... 2.02.28

To many 2.02.28 means nothing... to me it was a VICTORY!!  4 months ago... and only 8 months after having Ms. Emmy... I began to train for my second half marathon. At first... it was hard for me to find the time... find the energy... find the motivation. But I was determined... determined to do something for "myself". So... I began to make the time (5am runs)... I found the energy (caffeine and to bed earlier)... and with NO time... my motivation was stronger than ever!!

Don't ever say that you simply can't... because the truth is you CAN... you just have to make it happen.

I must add too... a dear friend... and neighbor was a huge part of my motivation. Rachel got up with me and would train with me.... she even would run half of my long runs on the weekend. Everyone needs someone who roots them on in a positive way!

 Mile 6 ...

Dear friend Kevin came to run it from IL... finished 1.51  Whooohoooo!!! Great job!
Still smiling and thanking the Lord for providing the energy!!! I had way too much left! :-)

Here's the crew: Carolyn (5k finisher), Kevin and myself.

Now... for the winter... just doing some 5k and a 10k... and hope to prepare for the next half in April. :0)

Reid + Soccer = Happiness

So... this summer Reid came to us and asked us if he could play soccer. So this fall was the "beginning" of a new chapter in our lives. What a GREAT season and team he had! Shout out to his coach Mr. Tarry for the patience he had to work with 9 little kindergarden boys ... a few who had never played before (Reid included).  Oh and to Nathan... for volunteering to be the "assistant". :-)

Reid learned SO much this season... mainly about which way the ball was supposed to go. LOL! He had a lot of fun... and learned about "teamwork." Such a valuable lesson!! He (and we) are excited to play again in the spring... but for right now... just a few practices in our back yard to keep up the "skills". ;-)
